Marigold (Calendula Officinalis) is one of the best herbs for treating localized skin ailments. it can be used wherever there is an inflammation on the skin. It can be used for any external bleeding or wound bruising. It can also be of benefit in slow healing wounds and skin ulcers. Marigold is ideal for the treatment of minor burns and scalds, where the treatment may be with a lotion, poultice, or a compress.
Internally Marigold acts a remedy for inflammations of the digestive tract, and ulcers.
As a cholagogue it will help in the relief of gallbladder problems, because of this it may be helpful in the case of indigestion.
Marigold is also widely used as an anti-fungal, and can be used both internally and externally for such infections. As an emmanagogue it has a reputation of helping delayed menstruation and painful periods, it is a normalizer of the menstrual process.

Active Constituents are Saponins, Carotenoids, Bitter Principle, Essential Oils, Sterols, Flavenoids, and Mucilage.
